Pine Grove Hall welcomes Gilad Hekselman, the acclaimed Israeli-born, NYC-based guitarist celebrated for his lyrical touch and fearless improvisation. Hekselman’s eleven-album catalog includes Trio Grande: Urban Myth (2023, with Will Vinson & Nate Wood) and his 2024 live album from the Village Vanguard. He has collaborated with leading artists including Chris Potter, Eric Harland, Fred Hersch, Mark Turner, Gretchen Parlato, Avishai Cohen, and more.
Beyond his own projects, Gilad has built an extensive recording résumé as a guest artist and collaborator. Among his favorite credits, he appears on Walt Disney Records’ Everybody Wants To Be a Cat (2011), an all-star collection of Disney songs reimagined by jazz greats including Dave Brubeck, Joshua Redman, Esperanza Spalding, Dianne Reeves, Roy Hargrove, Kurt Rosenwinkel, The Bad Plus, and more.
For this intimate evening, he’s joined by Josh Davis (Penn State Director of Jazz Studies) on bass and Todd Harrison on drums. Together, the trio will bring a mix of modern swing, melodic storytelling, and the kind of close-up interplay our listening room was built for.
Whether you’re a longtime jazz fan or simply love world-class live music in a warm, acoustically rich space, this is a rare opportunity to experience a true master at work right here in Pine Grove Mills.
