What we're reading: National Velvet by Kathryn Hitte
Velvet is a girl who loves horses and must learn to balance the life of taking care of her family's cows and learning about horses.
King is the horse owned by her family and Velvet loves to help with his training. One day, when there is an animal emergency on the farm, Velvet and King must set out on a race to get help.
