Meyer Dairy Farms is a family business owned by Joseph C. Meyer, Jr, Carolyn Meyer and son Dennis Meyer. The first Meyer farm was purchased in 1887 by W.C. Meyer, located on West Branch Road in State College, PA. The Meyer's delivered milk by horse and buggy until 1947. In 1970, the Dairy Store was built to serve the needs of the community for local milk and ice cream. The Meyer Farm now spans over 1,000 acres and includes 200 dairy cows. The Dairy Store (located on South Atherton Street in State College) still processes our own farm fresh milk in glass bottles. The Dairy also sells over 40 flavors of ice cream, all of which are made on-site. Some of the flavors are unique, such as Teaberry, Butter Crunch, Rum Raisin, Grapenut, Maple Walnut, Lemon Custard and Coconut Chip. There are also your common ice cream flavors, such as Vanilla, Chocolate, Mint Flake, Butter Pecan, and lots of others. The dairy also sells eggs, heavy cream, ice cream cakes, half gallons of ice cream, orange juice, and other local products. Lunch is also served daily with a menu including Mexi Hots, Burgers, Cheesesteaks, Homemade Soups, Cold Sandwich Salads, and more.
